Book summary

Half Girlfriend is a story of Bihari boy Madhav, a Hindi speaking Bihari who falls in love with Riya, an influential Delhi girl on the campus of prestigious St. Stephens College. Madhav belongs to middle class family, while Riya is from higher class and both have different lifestyles. Madhav proposes her, but Riya rejects the proposal because she thinks they are Used as a friend only.

About the author

Born on April 22, 1974, in New Delhi, Chetan Bhagat was raised in a traditional Punjabi Hindu family. His father served as a lieutenant colonel in the Indian Army, while his mother worked as a scientist at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi. He attended the Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, where he developed a passion for writing and contributed jokes to the school magazine

Bhagat pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, graduating in 1995. He then earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad in 1997.
