SCULPTURE / CONFIGURATIONS Matthew Sims

LT

With his new Sculpture/Configurations, [Irwin] once again invites us to savor the delightful contrast perceptual fluttering offers to the generic stability of quotidian, habitual perception. Matthew Sims

Published on the occasion of the exhibition held in 2018 at Pace in New York, Robert Irwin: New SCULPTURE/CONFIGURATIONS highlights the artists series of pillar-like sculptures made of ten-foot L- and T-shaped pieces of acrylic in green and brown. In addition to a text by Matthew Simms, this book includes ink drawings to accompany the series, which builds on Irwins decades-long exploration of site-conditioned artworks.
